Salesville is a small town located in Baxter County, Arkansas. It is situated in the Ozark Mountains, and is part of the Twin Lakes Region. The town has a population of approximately 500 people, and is located about 10 miles south of Mountain Home, Arkansas.

History

The town of Salesville was founded in 1883 by William and Mary Sales. The Sales family had moved to the area from Tennessee, and they purchased a large tract of land in the area. They built a store and a post office, and the town was officially established. The town was named after the Sales family, and it quickly grew in size and population.
In the early 1900s, the town was a thriving community with several businesses, including a general store, a blacksmith shop, a sawmill, and a grist mill. The town also had a school, a church, and a post office.
In the 1920s, the town began to decline as the population moved away to larger cities. The Great Depression also had a negative impact on the town, and by the 1940s, the population had dropped to just over 200 people.
