History
Pangburn was founded in 1883 by the Pangburn family, who had moved to the area from Tennessee. The town was named after the family, and the first post office was established in 1884. The town was incorporated in 1887.

Pangburn is located at 35°17'25" North, 91°51'45" West (35.290278, -91.862472). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.2 square miles (3.1 km2), all land.

The economy of Pangburn is largely based on agriculture. The town is home to several farms, as well as a few small businesses. The town also has a few restaurants and convenience stores.

As of the census of 2000, there were 845 people, 339 households, and 241 families residing in the town. The population density was 690.3 people per square mile (266.7/km2).
