History
Dierks was founded in 1891 and named after the Dierks Brothers Lumber Company, which had a large sawmill in the area. The town was incorporated in 1895.

The economy of Dierks is largely based on agriculture and timber. The town is home to several small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, and a lumber yard.
