Presque Isle Summary

History

The area now known as Presque Isle, Maine was first inhabited by the Mi’kmaq people, who were part of the Wabanaki Confederacy. The Mi’kmaq were a semi-nomadic people who lived off the land, hunting, fishing, and gathering wild plants. They were also known for their skill in basket-weaving and canoe-building.
