Zeigler Summary

Zeigler, Illinois is a small town located in Franklin County, Illinois. It is situated in the southern part of the state, about an hour and a half drive from St. Louis, Missouri. The town has a population of 1,845 people, according to the 2010 census.
The town was founded in 1858 by German immigrants who were looking for a place to settle and start a new life. The town was named after a local family, the Zeiglers, who had a large farm in the area. The town was incorporated in 1872 and has remained a small, rural community ever since.
Geographically, Zeigler is located in the Ozark Plateau region of Illinois. The town is situated on the banks of the Big Muddy River, which is a tributary of the Mississippi River.
