Richview Summary

Richview, Illinois is a small village located in Washington County, Illinois. It is situated in the southwestern part of the state, about 25 miles east of St. Louis, Missouri. The village has a population of approximately 1,000 people and covers an area of 0.6 square miles.

History

Richview was founded in 1837 by a group of settlers from Kentucky. The village was named after the nearby Richview Creek, which was named after a local family. The first post office was established in 1845 and the village was incorporated in 1872.
