Mill Shoals Summary

History

Mill Shoals is a small village located in White County, Illinois. It is situated on the banks of the Wabash River, and is part of the larger Wabash Valley region. The village was founded in 1836 by a group of settlers from Kentucky, who were looking for a place to settle and start a new life. The village was named after the nearby Mill Shoals, which was a series of rapids on the Wabash River.
The village was originally a farming community, and the settlers grew corn, wheat, and other crops. The village also had a sawmill, gristmill, and a blacksmith shop. The village was also home to a number of churches, including the Methodist Episcopal Church, the Baptist Church, and the Presbyterian Church.
