Hudson Summary

Hudson, Illinois is a small village located in McLean County, Illinois. It is situated in the heart of the Midwest, approximately 25 miles north of Bloomington and 30 miles south of Normal. The village has a population of approximately 1,500 people and covers an area of 0.7 square miles.

History

Hudson was founded in 1854 by a group of settlers from New York. The village was named after the Hudson River, which runs through the state of New York. The first settlers were primarily farmers and the village was largely agricultural in nature. In the late 19th century, the village began to grow and develop as a commercial center. The first bank was established in 1891 and the first post office was established in 1892.
In the early 20th century, the village experienced a period of growth and development. The first school was built in 1910 and the first library was established in 1912. The village also saw the construction of several churches, a hotel, and a movie theater.
