Glasford Summary

Glasford is a small village located in Peoria County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,093 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Peoria, Illinois Metropolitan Statistical Area.

History

Glasford was founded in 1854 by a group of settlers from Scotland. The town was named after Glasford, Scotland, the hometown of the settlers. The first post office was established in 1855. The village was incorporated in 1872.

Geography

Glasford is located at 40°45'25" North, 89°37'45" West (40.756944, -89.629167). According to the 2010 census, Glasford has a total area of 0.9 square miles (2.3 km2), all land.
