Crossville, Illinois is a small village located in White County, Illinois. It is situated in the southeastern part of the state, about 30 miles from the state capital of Springfield. The village has a population of approximately 1,000 people and is part of the larger Crossville-White County Metropolitan Statistical Area.

History

Crossville was founded in 1854 by a group of settlers from the nearby town of Grayville. The town was named after the local creek, which was named after a man named Cross.
