Waterman Summary

Waterman, Illinois is a small village located in DeKalb County, Illinois. It is situated about 50 miles west of Chicago and is part of the DeKalb-Sycamore Metropolitan Statistical Area. The village has a population of 1,717 people, according to the 2010 census.

History

Waterman was founded in 1856 by a group of settlers from New York. The village was named after the Waterman family, who were among the first settlers. The village was incorporated in 1867.
