Sidney Summary

Sidney is a small village located in Champaign County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,093 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Champaign–Urbana metropolitan area.

History

Sidney was founded in 1854 by William and Mary Sidney. The village was named after the couple, who had moved to the area from Ohio. The village was incorporated in 1858.
