Livingston Summary

Livingston, Illinois is a small village located in Madison County, Illinois. It is situated on the banks of the Kaskaskia River, about 25 miles northeast of St. Louis, Missouri. The village has a population of approximately 1,500 people and covers an area of 0.7 square miles.

History

Livingston was founded in 1818 by William Livingston, a Revolutionary War veteran. He purchased the land from the federal government and named the village after himself. The village was incorporated in 1867.
