Hindsboro Summary

Hindsboro is a small village located in Douglas County, Illinois, United States. The population was 517 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tuscola Community Unit School District 301.

History

Hindsboro was founded in 1854 by William Hinds, a settler from Ohio. The village was originally known as Hindsville, but the name was changed to Hindsboro in 1858. The village was incorporated in 1872.

Geography

Hindsboro is located at 39°51'25" North, 88°14'17" West (39.856944, -88.238056). According to the 2010 census, the village has a total area of 0.4 square miles (1.0 km2), all land.

Economy
