Dalton City Summary

Dalton City is a small city located in the state of Illinois. It is located in the northern part of the state, in the county of Macon. The city has a population of approximately 1,500 people, and is located about 30 miles south of Decatur.

History

Dalton City was founded in 1854 by a group of settlers from the nearby town of Decatur. The settlers were looking for a place to settle and start a new life, and they chose the area that is now Dalton City. The town was named after the first settler, John Dalton, who was a prominent figure in the area.
The town grew slowly but steadily over the years, and by the early 1900s it had become a thriving community. The town was home to a variety of businesses, including a general store, a blacksmith, a hotel, and a post office. The town also had a school, which was attended by many of the local children.
