Cacao is a municipality located in the state of Puerto Rico, in the Caribbean region of the United States. The municipality covers an area of approximately 24 square miles (62 km2). The terrain is mostly mountainous, with some flat areas in the lower elevations. The highest point in the municipality is Cerro de la Cruz, which has an elevation of 2,845 feet (867 m).
