Brenas Summary

History

Brenas was founded in 1815 by Don Juan de Brenas. It was originally part of the municipality of Toa Alta, but was separated in 1825. The town was named after its founder, Don Juan de Brenas.

Geography

Brenas is located in the northern region of Puerto Rico, in the San Juan-Caguas-Guaynabo Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is bordered by the municipalities of Toa Alta, Naranjito, Corozal, and Bayamon. The terrain is mostly flat, with some hills in the northern part of the municipality. The highest point is Cerro de la Cruz, which is located in the northern part of the municipality and has an elevation of 1,000 feet (305 meters).

Brenas has a tropical climate, with an average temperature of 79°F (26°C). The average annual precipitation is around 50 inches (127 cm).

Economy
