The village is located approximately 25 miles east of Wooster and 40 miles southwest of Akron. The population of Fredericksburg was 1,093 at the 2010 census.

History

Fredericksburg was founded in 1817 by a group of settlers from Pennsylvania. The village was named after Frederick, the son of one of the settlers. The village was incorporated in 1837.
In the early 19th century, Fredericksburg was a thriving agricultural community. The village was home to several mills, including a grist mill, a saw mill, and a woolen mill. The village also had a blacksmith shop, a tannery, and a general store.
In the late 19th century, the village began to decline. The mills closed and the population began to dwindle. By the early 20th century, the village was in decline.

The village is located in the Killbuck Creek Valley, a tributary of the Mohican River. The village is surrounded by rolling hills and farmland.

The average household size was 2.48 and the average family size was 3.03.
