Burbank Summary

Burbank, Ohio is a small village located in Wayne County, Ohio. It is situated on the banks of the Killbuck Creek, a tributary of the Tuscarawas River. The village has a population of approximately 1,000 people and is part of the Wooster, Ohio Metropolitan Statistical Area.

History

Burbank was founded in 1817 by a group of settlers from Pennsylvania. The village was named after the Burbank family, who were among the first settlers. The village was originally known as Burbankville, but the name was changed to Burbank in 1837.
The village was an important stop on the Underground Railroad, with many of the local residents helping to hide and transport escaped slaves. The village was also home to a number of mills, including a grist mill, a saw mill, and a woolen mill.

Geography

Burbank is located in Wayne County, Ohio, approximately 25 miles south of Akron and 40 miles north of Canton. The village is situated on the banks of the Killbuck Creek, a tributary of the Tuscarawas River. The village is surrounded by rolling hills and farmland.
