Wood Lake Summary

History

Wood Lake is a small city located in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. It is situated on the western edge of the state, near the South Dakota border. The city was founded in 1881 by a group of settlers from Norway, who named it after the nearby lake. The city was incorporated in 1887 and has since grown to a population of approximately 500 people.
