Geography

Minnesota Lake is located at the intersection of Minnesota State Highways 60 and 30. It is situated on the north shore of Minnesota Lake, a small lake that is part of the Cannon River watershed. The city is surrounded by rolling hills and farmland, and is located in the heart of Minnesota's agricultural region.

History

Minnesota Lake was first settled in 1856 by a group of settlers from New York. The city was originally known as "New York Settlement," but was later renamed "Minnesota Lake" after the nearby lake. The city was incorporated in 1872.
In the late 19th century, Minnesota Lake was a thriving agricultural community. The city was home to several grain elevators, a creamery, a flour mill, and a lumber mill. The city also had a railroad station, which connected it to the rest of the state.
