Comfrey Summary

History

The small town of Comfrey, Minnesota is located in Brown County in the southwestern part of the state. It was founded in 1871 by a group of German immigrants who were looking for a place to settle and start a new life. The town was named after the nearby Comfrey Creek, which was named after the wild comfrey plant that grew in abundance in the area.
The first settlers of Comfrey were mostly farmers, and the town quickly grew to become a thriving agricultural community. The town was home to a variety of businesses, including a general store, a blacksmith, a hotel, a bank, and a post office. The town also had a school, a church, and a newspaper.
