Cokato Summary

Cokato is a city located in Wright County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 2,719 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area.

History

Cokato was founded in 1856 by Swedish immigrants. The city was named after the Swedish city of Cokato, which means "little lake". The first settlers were mostly farmers, and the city quickly grew to become a thriving agricultural community.
