Beaver Creek Summary

Beaver Creek is a small city located in southwestern Minnesota, in the United States. It is situated in the southwestern corner of the state, near the border with South Dakota. The city is part of the Sioux Falls metropolitan area, and is located in the county of Pipestone. The population of Beaver Creek was 1,093 at the 2010 census.

History

Beaver Creek was founded in 1878 by a group of settlers from Wisconsin. The city was named after the nearby Beaver Creek, which was named for the abundance of beaver in the area. The city was incorporated in 1883.
In the early 1900s, Beaver Creek was a thriving agricultural community. The city was home to several grain elevators, a creamery, a flour mill, and a lumber yard. The city also had a hotel, a bank, and a post office.
