Winchester Summary

Winchester, Ohio is a small village located in the southwestern corner of Adams County, Ohio. It is situated along the Ohio River, approximately 25 miles east of Cincinnati. The village has a population of approximately 1,400 people and covers an area of 0.7 square miles.

History

Winchester was founded in 1818 by a group of settlers from Pennsylvania. The village was named after Winchester, Virginia, the birthplace of one of the settlers. The village was incorporated in 1845 and was the first village in Adams County to be incorporated.
