Stockport Summary

Stockport, Ohio is a small village located in Morgan County, Ohio. It is situated on the Muskingum River, approximately 25 miles southeast of Columbus. The village has a population of approximately 500 people and covers an area of 0.6 square miles.

History

Stockport was founded in 1817 by a group of settlers from Pennsylvania. The village was named after Stockport, England, and was originally known as Stockport Station. The village was incorporated in 1837 and was the first village in Morgan County to be incorporated.
