Somerset Summary

Somerset is a small village located in Perry County, Ohio, United States. The village is situated on the banks of the Ohio River, approximately 25 miles east of Columbus. The population of Somerset was 1,845 at the 2010 census.

History

Somerset was founded in 1817 by a group of settlers from Somerset County, Pennsylvania. The village was named after the county in Pennsylvania. The first settlers were mostly of German and English descent. The village was incorporated in 1837.
