Sinking Spring Summary

Sinking Spring is a small village located in the southwestern corner of Ohio, in Highland County. It is situated on the banks of the Little Miami River, and is surrounded by rolling hills and farmland. The village has a population of just over 500 people, and is home to a variety of businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, a restaurant, and a few other small businesses.

History

Sinking Spring was founded in 1817 by a group of settlers from Pennsylvania. The village was named after a nearby spring that was said to “sink” into the ground. The settlers were attracted to the area due to its fertile soil and abundant natural resources. The village quickly grew and by the mid-1800s, it had become a thriving community.
