Rushsylvania Summary

History

Rushsylvania is a village located in Logan County, Ohio, United States. The village was founded in 1832 by William Rush, a Revolutionary War veteran. Rush named the village after himself and it was incorporated in 1851. The village was originally a farming community, but it has since grown to include a variety of businesses and services.

Geography

Rushsylvania is located at 40°30'25" North, 83°45'45" West (40.506944, -83.762500). According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.6 square miles (1.6 km2), all of it land.

Economy

The economy of Rushsylvania is largely based on agriculture and manufacturing. The village is home to several small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, a restaurant, and a bank. The village also has a post office and a library.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there were 1,039 people, 397 households, and 287 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,717.2 people per square mile (662.3/km2).
