North Baltimore Summary
Baltimore is a small village located in Wood County, Ohio, United States. It is situated along the Blanchard River, approximately 20 miles south of Toledo. The population was 1,945 at the 2010 census.
History
The area that is now North Baltimore was first settled in 1832 by a group of settlers from Pennsylvania. The village was originally known as "Newburg" and was later renamed "North Baltimore" in 1837. The village was incorporated in 1867.
The village was a major stop on the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, which ran through the village from 1851 to 1971. The railroad was a major factor in the growth of the village, as it provided transportation for goods and people.

North Baltimore is located at 41°14'25" North, 83°37'45" West (41.240278, -83.629167). According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.2 square miles (3.1 km2), all land.

North Baltimore is a small village with a limited economy. The village is home to several small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, a restaurant, and a few other small shops. The village also has a few industrial businesses, including a plastics manufacturer and a metal fabrication shop.

As of the census of 2010, there were 1,945 people, 790 households, and 517 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,619.2 people per square mile (624.2/km2). There were 845 housing units at an average density of 703.3 per square mile (272.2/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 97.2% White, 0.3% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.3% Asian, 0.2% from other races, and 1.9% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.2% of the population.
There were 790 households, out of which 32.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.3% were married couples living together, 13.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 35.6% were non-families. 30.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 13.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.45 and the average family size was 3.04.
In the village, the population was spread out, with 25.7% under the age of 18, 8.2% from 18 to 24, 28.2% from 25 to 44, 22.7% from 45 to 64, and 15.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females, there were 91.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.2 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $37,917, and the median income for a family was $45,000. Males had a median income of $35,000 versus $25,000 for females. The per capita income for the village was $17,917. About 8.2% of families and 10.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 14.2% of those under age 18 and 8.2% of those age 65 or over.
