Newtown Summary

Newtown, Ohio is a small village located in the southeastern corner of Clermont County, Ohio. It is situated on the banks of the Little Miami River, approximately 25 miles east of Cincinnati. The village is part of the Cincinnati Metropolitan Statistical Area and has a population of approximately 1,400 people.

History

Newtown was founded in 1814 by a group of settlers from Pennsylvania. The village was originally known as “New Town” and was later changed to “Newtown”. The village was incorporated in 1845 and was the first village in Clermont County to be incorporated.
The village was originally a farming community and was known for its production of wheat, corn, and other grains.
