Neville Summary
Neville is a small unincorporated community located in Clermont County, Ohio. It is situated in the southeastern corner of the county, just north of the Ohio River. The community is bordered by the towns of Batavia, Williamsburg, and New Richmond. The population of Neville was estimated to be around 1,000 in 2020.
History
The area that is now Neville was first settled in the early 1800s by a group of German immigrants. The community was originally known as “New Germany” and was located in the township of Williamsburg. In 1845, the name was changed to “Neville” in honor of the Neville family, who had been among the first settlers in the area.
The community grew slowly over the years, and by the late 1800s, it had become a thriving agricultural center. The town was home to several businesses, including a general store, a blacksmith shop, and a grist mill. In the early 1900s, the town was connected to the outside world by the Cincinnati, Hamilton, and Dayton Railroad.
