Millbury Summary

History

The history of Millbury, Ohio dates back to the early 1800s when the area was first settled by pioneers. The town was originally known as Millbury Station, named after the nearby Millbury Creek. The first settlers were mostly farmers and the town grew slowly over the years. In 1837, the town was officially incorporated and the name was changed to Millbury.
The town was a small farming community until the late 1800s when the railroad came through. This brought new industry and jobs to the area and the population began to grow. The town was also home to several mills, including a grist mill, a saw mill, and a woolen mill.
