Lakemore Summary

Lakemore is a village located in Summit County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,717 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Akron Metropolitan Statistical Area.

History

The area that is now Lakemore was first settled in 1814 by a group of settlers from Connecticut. The settlers named the area Lakemore because of the many lakes in the area. The village was officially incorporated in 1921.

The economy of Lakemore is largely based on manufacturing and retail. The village is home to several factories, including a rubber manufacturing plant and a plastics factory. There are also several retail stores in the village, including a grocery store, a hardware store, and a pharmacy.
