Fletcher Summary

Fletcher is a small village located in Miami County, Ohio. It is situated in the western part of the state, approximately 25 miles north of Dayton. The village has a population of approximately 1,000 people and is part of the Troy City School District.

History

Fletcher was founded in 1837 by a group of settlers from Pennsylvania. The village was named after a local landowner, William Fletcher. The first post office was established in 1838 and the village was incorporated in 1867.
In the late 19th century, Fletcher was a thriving agricultural community. The village was home to several mills, a blacksmith shop, a general store, and a hotel. The village also had a railroad station, which connected it to the larger cities of Dayton and Troy.
In the early 20th century, Fletcher experienced a period of growth and development. The village was home to several factories, including a canning factory, a furniture factory, and a brickyard. The village also had a movie theater, a bank, and a library.

Geography

Fletcher is located in western Ohio, approximately 25 miles north of Dayton. The village is situated in the Miami Valley, which is part of the larger Great Miami River watershed. The village is surrounded by farmland and is located near the Great Miami River.
The village has a total area of 0.6 square miles, all of which is land. The village is located at an elevation of 845 feet above sea level.
