Edison Summary

Edison, Ohio is a small village located in the southeastern corner of Huron County, Ohio. It is situated on the banks of the Huron River, approximately 25 miles east of Sandusky and 40 miles west of Cleveland. The village was founded in 1837 and named after Thomas Edison, the inventor of the light bulb. The population of Edison was 1,845 at the 2010 census.

Geography

Edison is located at 41°17'25"N 82°37'45"W (41.290278, -82.629167). According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.9 square miles (2.3 km2), all land.
The village is located in the Huron River Valley, which is part of the larger Lake Erie watershed. The Huron River flows through the village, and is a popular spot for fishing and boating.
