Continental, Ohio is a small village located in Putnam County, Ohio. It is situated along the Blanchard River, approximately 20 miles south of the city of Findlay. The village has a population of 1,845 people, according to the 2010 census.

History

The area that is now Continental was first settled in 1832 by a group of German immigrants. The village was originally known as “New Germany” and was later renamed “Continental” in 1837. The name was chosen to honor the soldiers of the Continental Army who fought in the American Revolutionary War.
The village was incorporated in 1845 and was home to a variety of businesses, including a flour mill, a sawmill, a grist mill, a tannery, and a distillery. The village also had a post office, a bank, and a newspaper.

Continental is located in northwestern Ohio, approximately 20 miles south of the city of Findlay. The village is situated along the Blanchard River, which flows through the village and is a tributary of the Auglaize River. The village is located in a rural area and is surrounded by farmland.
