College Corner Summary

History

College Corner is a small unincorporated community located in the southwestern corner of Ohio, near the border of Indiana and Ohio. It is located in the county of Butler, and is part of the Cincinnati metropolitan area. The community was founded in 1817 by a group of settlers from Pennsylvania, who were looking for a place to settle and start a college. The college was named College Corner, and it was the first college in the area. The college was short-lived, however, and closed in 1820.
The community was then re-established in 1837, when a group of settlers from Kentucky and Virginia moved to the area. The settlers were looking for a place to start a new town, and College Corner was the perfect spot. The town was named after the college that had been established there before.
The town grew slowly, but steadily, and by the late 19th century, it had become a thriving community. The town was home to several businesses, including a general store, a blacksmith shop, a post office, and a school. The town also had a railroad station, which connected it to the larger cities in the area.
In the early 20th century, College Corner began to decline. The railroad station closed in the 1920s, and the town's population began to dwindle. By the 1950s, the town was nearly abandoned. In the late 1970s, however, the town began to experience a resurgence. The town was revitalized by the opening of a new college, Miami University-Middletown, which is located just outside of College Corner.
