Caledonia Summary

Caledonia, Ohio is a small village located in Marion County, Ohio. It is situated on the banks of the Olentangy River, approximately 25 miles north of Columbus. The village has a population of approximately 1,000 people and is part of the Marion Metropolitan Statistical Area.

History

Caledonia was founded in 1817 by a group of settlers from Pennsylvania. The village was named after the Roman province of Caledonia, which was located in modern-day Scotland. The settlers were attracted to the area due to its fertile soil and abundant natural resources. The village was incorporated in 1837 and quickly became a thriving agricultural community.
