Burton Summary

Burton, Ohio is a small village located in Geauga County, Ohio. It is situated on the western edge of the county, just south of the city of Chardon. The village has a population of approximately 1,400 people and covers an area of 1.2 square miles.

History

Burton was founded in 1818 by a group of settlers from Connecticut. The village was named after the first settler, John Burton, who had purchased the land from the Connecticut Land Company. The village was incorporated in 1837 and has remained relatively unchanged since then.
