History
Bradner was founded in 1854 by John Bradner, a farmer from Pennsylvania. He purchased the land from the government and began to develop the area. The village was incorporated in 1876.
The village was originally a farming community, but in the early 1900s, the area began to develop into a manufacturing center. The first factory was a brickyard, which opened in 1902. This was followed by a furniture factory, a canning factory, and a foundry.
The village was also home to a number of small businesses, including a general store, a blacksmith shop, and a hotel.

There were 471 housing units at an average density of 667.1 per square mile (257.7/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 97.2% White, 0.7% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.2% Asian, 0.2% from other races, and 1.7% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.2% of the population.
There were 441 households, out of which 32.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.2% were married couples living together, 13.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.2% were non-families. 28.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.48 and the average family size was 3.03.
In the village, the population was spread out, with 25.7% under the age of 18, 8.2% from 18 to 24, 28.2% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 13.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females, there were 94.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.2 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $41,250, and the median income for a family was $48,750. Males had a median income of $35,000 versus $25,000 for females.
