Ada Summary

Ada is a village located in Hardin County, Ohio, United States. The population was 5,952 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Hardin County. The village is named after Ada Rittenhouse, the daughter of a settler.

History

Ada was founded in 1831 by settlers from Pennsylvania and Virginia. The village was named after Ada Rittenhouse, the daughter of one of the settlers. The village was incorporated in 1851.

The racial makeup of the village was 97.2% White, 0.7% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.4% Asian, 0.2% from other races, and 1.3% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.2% of the population.
