Vader Summary

Washington is a state located in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. It is bordered by Oregon to the south, Idaho to the east, and the Canadian province of British Columbia to the north. Washington is the 18th largest state in the United States, with an area of 71,362 square miles, and the 13th most populous state, with a population of 7.4 million as of 2019. History

The area that is now Washington was first inhabited by Native American tribes, including the Chinook, Nisqually, and Klickitat. The first European to explore the area was British explorer George Vancouver in 1792. The area was part of the Oregon Country, a disputed region between the United States and Great Britain, until 1846 when the Oregon Treaty established the 49th parallel as the border between the two countries.
In 1853, Washington Territory was established, and in 1889, it was admitted to the Union as the 42nd state.
