Bryn Mawr Skyway is a census-designated place (CDP) located in King County, Washington, United States. It is located in the south-central part of the county, just south of Seattle. As of the 2010 census, the population of Bryn Mawr Skyway was 8,845.
History
The area now known as Bryn Mawr Skyway was originally inhabited by the Duwamish people, who had lived in the area for thousands of years prior to the arrival of European settlers. The first European settlers arrived in the area in the late 19th century, and the area was officially incorporated as the town of Bryn Mawr in 1909. The town was named after the Welsh town of Bryn Mawr, which means "big hill" in Welsh.
In the early 20th century, the area was primarily agricultural, with dairy farms and orchards being the main sources of income. In the 1950s, the area began to experience rapid growth as Seattle's population expanded and the area became increasingly suburban. In the 1970s, the area was annexed by the city of Seattle and became part of the city's Skyway neighborhood.
Geography
Bryn Mawr Skyway is located in King County, Washington, in the south-central part of the county. It is bordered to the north by Seattle, to the east by Tukwila, to the south by White Center, and to the west by Burien. The CDP has a total area of 2.3 square miles, all of which is land.
The terrain of Bryn Mawr Skyway is mostly flat, with some rolling hills in the northern part of the CDP. The area is located in the Puget Sound lowlands, and is drained by several small creeks and streams. The highest point in the CDP is located at an elevation of 441 feet.
Economy
The economy of Bryn Mawr Skyway is primarily based on retail and services. The area is home to several large retail stores, including a Walmart Supercenter, a Target, and a Home Depot. There are also several smaller retail stores, restaurants, and other businesses located in the area.
The area is also home to several industrial and manufacturing businesses, including a Boeing plant and a Coca-Cola bottling plant. The area is also home to several medical facilities, including a hospital and several clinics.

Hispanic or Latino of any race were 11.3% of the population.

About 11.2% of families and 14.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 19.2% of those under age 18 and 8.2% of those age 65 or over.
