Faison is a small town located in Duplin County, North Carolina. It is situated in the southeastern part of the state, approximately 40 miles east of Wilmington and 60 miles south of Raleigh. The town has a population of 1,845 people, according to the 2010 census.

As of the 2010 census, Faison had a population of 1,845 people. The racial makeup of the town was 79.3% White, 17.2% African American, 0.7% Native American, 0.3% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, and 2.4% from other races. The median household income was $30,938, and the median family income was $37,917.

History

Faison was founded in 1790 by a group of settlers from Virginia. The town was named after a local landowner, William Faison.
