Autryville is a town located in Sampson County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 545 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dunn Micropolitan Statistical Area.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.7 square miles (1.8 km2), all of it land.

History

Autryville was founded in 1891 by William Autry, a local farmer. The town was named after him and was incorporated in 1901.
The town was originally a farming community, but in the early 20th century, it became a center for the production of tobacco and cotton. The town also had a number of small businesses, including a general store, a blacksmith shop, and a grist mill.
In the 1950s, Autryville began to decline as the tobacco and cotton industries moved away. The town's population decreased and many of the businesses closed.
In the late 1990s, Autryville began to experience a resurgence. The town was designated as a Main Street Community in 1998, and the downtown area was revitalized. The town also began to attract new businesses, including a furniture store, a restaurant, and a hardware store.

The racial makeup of the town was 73.2% White, 22.2% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.2% Asian, 0.2% Pacific Islander, 2.2% from other races, and 1.8% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.4% of the population.
There were 212 households, out of which 28.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.1% were married couples living together, 15.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.7% were non-families. 25.9% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.57 and the average family size was 3.09.
In the town, the population was spread out, with 25.2% under the age of 18, 8.2% from 18 to 24, 28.2% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 14.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females, there were 94.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.2 males.
The median income for a household in the town was $30,000, and the median income for a family was $35,000. Males had a median income of $27,500 versus $20,000 for females. The per capita income for the town was $14,845. About 14.3% of families and 17.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 22.2% of those under age 18 and 15.2% of those age 65 or over.
