Tustin Summary

Tustin is a small village located in the northern part of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula. It is situated in Osceola County, approximately 20 miles south of Cadillac and 40 miles north of Big Rapids. The village is surrounded by rolling hills and farmland, and is home to a population of just over 500 people.

History

Tustin was first settled in 1871 by a group of settlers from New York. The village was named after the Tustin family, who were among the first settlers. The Tustin family had a large farm in the area, and the village was built around it. The village was officially incorporated in 1887.
In the early 1900s, Tustin was a thriving agricultural community. The village was home to several small businesses, including a general store, a blacksmith shop, and a sawmill. The village also had a post office, a school, and a church.
In the 1950s, Tustin began to decline as many of its residents moved away in search of better economic opportunities. The village’s population dropped from over 500 in 1950 to just over 300 in 2000.

Tustin is located in the northern part of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula. It is situated in Osceola County, approximately 20 miles south of Cadillac and 40 miles north of Big Rapids. The village is surrounded by rolling hills and farmland.
