Ropesville is a small town located in Hockley County, Texas. It is situated about 20 miles northeast of Lubbock and is part of the Lubbock Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was named after the Ropes family, who were among the first settlers in the area. As of the 2010 census, the population of Ropesville was 545.

History
