Millsap Summary

Millsap is a small town located in Parker County, Texas, United States. It is situated about 25 miles west of Fort Worth and is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metropolitan area. The population of Millsap was 1,092 at the 2010 census.

History

Millsap was founded in 1881 by William Millsap, a former Confederate soldier. The town was named after him and was originally a farming community. In the early 1900s, the town began to grow and develop as a result of the railroad. The railroad brought new businesses and industries to the area, and the town began to thrive.
In the 1920s, the town was incorporated and the population began to grow. The town was home to several businesses, including a cotton gin, a blacksmith shop, a general store, and a hotel. The town also had a school, a post office, and a bank.
In the 1950s, the town began to decline as the railroad industry began to decline. The population began to decline as well, and by the 1970s, the town had become a ghost town.
