Electra Summary

Electra, Texas is a small town located in Wichita County, Texas. It is situated about 20 miles northwest of Wichita Falls and is part of the Wichita Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded in 1891 and was named after Electra Waggoner, the daughter of William Thomas Waggoner, a prominent rancher in the area. As of the 2010 census, the population of Electra was 2,465.

Geography

Electra is located at 33°59'25"N 98°41'45"W (33.990278, -98.695833). It is situated in the Red River Valley, which is part of the Great Plains region of the United States. The town is located on the western edge of Wichita County, and is bordered by Clay County to the west and Archer County to the south. The terrain of the area is mostly flat, with some rolling hills. The climate is semi-arid, with hot summers and mild winters.
